Michael Barras

Michael Lynn Barras, 57, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at his residence. He was born on November 14, 1956 in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Louis Rene Barras and Frances Pecorino. He worked in construction as a pipefitter, and was a member of the Golden Triangle Church on the Rock.

Michael is survived by his brothers, Joe Barras and David Barras of Nederland, TX; sister, Nita McCarty and husband, Shane of Vidor, TX; nephew, Randy Sponsler of Nederland, TX; nieces, Shelley Sponsler of Nederland, TX and Jennifer Bradley of Austin, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan Barras.

Funeral services will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
