Michael Keith Gross, a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, in Groves, Texas. Born on September 8, 1948, in Port Arthur, Texas, Michael’s life was a testament to dedication, community involvement, and heartfelt devotion to those he held dear.
Throughout his career, Michael applied his expertise with unwavering commitment, guiding countless individuals through the complexities of tax preparation. Yet, beyond his professional achievements, he was most cherished for his warm heart and open door, qualities that endeared him to many as he welcomed friends and family into his home with genuine hospitality.
Michael’s passions extended well beyond the office. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including gardening, cooking, and his beloved visits to the beach. In his younger days, he delighted in fishing and hunting, pursuits that reflected his deep connection to nature. He was known within the family as " Uncle Bubba," a cherished title that spoke to the affection and respect he earned from relatives near and far.
His proudest accomplishments were not merely those of career or hobby but rooted in his community and family engagement. He was actively involved in the Gilchrist Community Association, demonstrating his enduring commitment to the place he called home. Above all, Michael’s love for his family was paramount; he was especially fond of his grandsons, with whom he shared countless treasured moments.
Michael is survived by his son, Keith Gross and wife Vanessa of Orange; daughter, Michelle Roger and husband Casey of Duson, Louisiana; and grandchildren Kaden Gross, Colten Gross, Braxton Roger, Jaxson Roger, and Corbin Gross. He also leaves behind his loving girlfriend, Janice Ducote of Groves; his brother, Paul Gross, and wife Kathy, nephew’s Danny Gross and wife April and Robert and wife Haley along with his beloved fur companion, Lucas. Michael’s parents, Edward and Queva Gross, preceded him in death. Also survived my numerous beloved cousins.
Family, friends, and all who knew Michael are invited to honor his memory on June 5, 2026, at the Melancon Levingston Funeral Home 5601 39th Street, Groves, Texas. Visitation will begin at noon, followed by the recitation of the Rosary at 1:30 p.m., and the funeral service will commence at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
