Michael "Mike" Douglas Hawsey, 51, of Brookeland, Texas passed away, Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. He was born on August 2, 1962 in Port Arthur, Texas to Joe Douglas Hawsey and Joyce Gee Hawsey. Mike was a member of Church on the Rock in Nederland and had worked as an insulator for Austin Industrial. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Gary Harper of Missionary Baptist Church in Brookeland officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Brookeland Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Michael is survived by his wife, Melissa Hawsey of Brookeland, son, Wyatt Douglas Hawsey of Brookeland, parents, Joe and Joyce "Cookie" Hawsey of Groves, father and mother in law, Kenneth D. and Lupe M. Long of Brookeland, sister, Jodee Jones and husband, Warren of Pearland, nephews, C.J. Howton of Pearland and Kameron Goodsell of Brookeland .
