Chief has been so many things to me - my fraternal big brother, mentor, guardian, guidance counselor, chaperone, manager and teacher. How fortunate we have been to have had Chief as a leader, role model and loving friend. No doubt, this man knew love and how to show it. Thank you, my brother, for all you taught us.

What a great loss! I only knew him through my brother, Darren but I remember he was always so kind and respectful to me and always had a smile on his face. His smile and kindness will be missed by all.

My deepest sympathies to Mike's family and friends. Mike treated me so respectfully when I met him in band my freshman year at Forest Park, and he was a senior. Then when my brother Bryce died 11 years later, Mike showed his respect for Bryce and for our family when he played in the brass ensemble at Bryce's funeral. I wish I could be there at the service on Friday. I shall definitely be there in spirit. May God provide you solace in the midst of your grief.

Mike was an amazing man, husband, father, friend, leader, and a warrior in his recent battle. I will always remember him as Chief of many happy memories in college. I still remember when he and Tammy began dating, and I knew it to be the perfect match. What a wonderful life he led and fulfilled. What a wonderful legacy he leaves behind. Love and prayers to you all.

I have no words to describe the void we all feel at Mike's passing. He was our friend and solid example of what a human being should be. I have hundreds of memories of the times we all spent together and they are all centered around laughter and fun. God bless Tammy and the rest of Mike's family in their time of mourning. RIH my brother...

A friend from the first day I met him at Lamar University. A Kappa Kappa Psi brother that lived the code and was there for all. A young man that found the love of his life and treated her like a crowned jewel as God intended. A proud father and husband, and a strong example for all men on how to live life and treat others. How could you not want him as a friend? Hearts are heavy with his departure. Chief, thank you for being a positive impact to so many lives. You are loved indeed!

Mike befriended me when I moved there in the middle of 7th grade and remained what I consider one of my best friends for life. Although I moved away in 10th grade, he was always the kind of friend that you could be out of contact with for a while, but when we talked again, it was like it was just yesterday when we last spoke. The honor of him being one of my groomsmen at my wedding is something I will always be thankful for. God's peace and blessings to the entire family. He will be missed.
