Michael Dwight Miles, 70, of Nederland, passed away May 26, 2014. He was born June 2, 1943, in Goose Creek, TX to the late James Wade and Arlene Anderson .

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Donna J. Miles of Nederland; children, Joy Kolb and husband Chris of Nederland, David Miles and wife Tami of Bossier City, LA, and John Miles and wife Margie of Abilene, TX; grandchildren, Joshua, Cameron, Krystal, Michael, Devin, Kristen, Sarah and Brittany; and many friends.

Including his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth Emerson and Lois Mowen.

The family will receive visitors Friday, May 30th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 31st at 2:00 p.m. at Melancon's Funeral Home, Rev. Tim Hanley officiating. Interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.

Donna and Family, Three things stand out the most. #1 was the times we spent together as all of you encouraged my family to follow Christ in the early years. #2 were the short but deep conversations that Mike and I would have. #3 Words cannot express as to how Mike came to pay his respects for our son, Robert in his homecoming. Mike was a close and dear friend of ours over 40 years even though we didn't live in Texas, we always kept in touch. We will never forget Mike's delicious pancakes! A great person who will be missed. Al and Maggie.
