Michael Paul Savant, affectionately known to all as Mike, was born on November 26, 1960, in Groves, Texas. He passed away on October 17, 2025, in Port Arthur, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Mike was the devoted spouse of Penny Savant, with whom he shared 43 wonderful years of marriage. His family was his pride and joy, and he is survived by his beloved daughters, Staci Savant and her husband, James Sparrow; and Haley Martin and her husband, Colby. Mike was also a proud grandfather to four grandchildren: Bryn, Brody, Landree, and Rylee, who were the light of his life.
In addition to his immediate family, Mike is survived by his brothers, Robert Savant and his partner, Shawn; Billy Savant and his wife, Becky; and Frankie Savant and his wife, Cindy. He is also survived by his sisters, Liz Connelly and Margie Bartlett alongside her husband, Denny; his God son, Richard Savant, along with numerous nieces & nephews and lifelong family friend, Uncle Chicken.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Savant, who instilled in him the values of family and hard work.
Throughout his life, Mike found joy in the simple pleasures. He had a passion for fishing, spending time with his family at the beach and the lake. He had a fondness for old western shows, which brought him endless entertainment. His heart was also captured by his beloved dog, Sheba, a faithful companion with whom he shared many adventures.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, October 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to begin at 11:00 a.m., at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland located at 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas 77627. Cremation services will take place following the service.
