Dear David & Ryan, I want to express to you how sorry I feel about the loss of your father. He has been a dear friend to the "Cassill" family for about forty years. Michael always had the most kind and considerate behavior for others. He recently expressed his love and plans to marry my sister, which I was looking forward to him becoming my brother in law. I always enjoyed conversations with him. He will be missed by many. God Bless ya'll. With Love Denise Cassill Jones

I have many fond memories from "back in the day" with Mike. It was an honor to have played music with him during our high school years, and to call him a friend. While we were not in contact over the last 25 or so years..I will always remember those special times. My deepest sympathy to the family. He was a class act.

David and Ryan, I regret I never even met your dad, but he must have been something to have had two such fine young men.

So many memories and good times we shared. I loved Mike like a brother and that is how we and all the guys were playing music together. Mike was incredibly talented and so modest about it. One of the best vocalists I have ever known and with his playing a delight to be musically associated with. You will be sorely missed brother but I know you are now a gem in that heavenly band. Rest in Peace my brother.

We lived next door to Ruthie and Fin when Mike was still in school and before David died. When Ruthie and Fin would go to Yoakum, Mike would stay with us being a Trahan we were rice eaters and I introduced him to rice and eggs. Ruthie said that is all Mike wanted for breakfast for a long time. I don't know Mike's two sons but I am really sorry about you losing your dad. My prayers are with you.

I know Mike was so proud of you boys. I wish we had gotten to know you better but I remember when your Mom brought y'all to the Baylor Reunion. I saw and talked to Mike several times in recent years. One time I told him how important Ruthie was to my Mom (Novene) and how she told stories about her and Ruthie dancing together somewhere near Pruetz's an abandoned slab, I think. Mike was touched by the recollection and said "thank you for that" -- I've never heard a more sincere 4 words spoken. I know he had a good heart and I know he is happy now with his family in God's house. I know God's peace and love will go with you boys. I'm so sorry for your loss. Love, your cousin Becky

From Little League baseball (Yankees) to Holcomb's barbershop - all through junior high and high school, Mike was one of the coolest people I have ever known. I have not seen him for 40 years - but I miss him. May God's comfort be with family and close friends.

I had the great privilege of having Mike as a friend and a fellow musician. I played many years with him. We played at The Flagship Hotel in Galveston and made some beautiful music along the way. I loved his talent and his BEAUTUFUL rich voice. I have recordings of him I cherish. I did and still love him.
