Michelle Paige Borel Forrest, 49, of Nederland, TX went home to be with The Lord after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in her home surrounded by the family she so dearly loved.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1964, to Sandra and Donald Borel. Her childhood was spent moving around the country quite a bit, but she settled in the place she was born, her home, Port Neches. She graduated from PN-G High School in 1983 and Lamar Institute of Technology in 2003 with a degree in Computer-Assisted Drafting. She worked in the banking industry for many years and ended her career at Neches Federal Credit Union. She loved dancing, crocheting, attending her son, Logan’s concerts, long visits with her daughter, Kaitlin, and going to the beach. Michelle had a deep love of and intimate relationship with her God, which was magnified through her ACTS retreat experience.
More than anything, Michelle loved her children: Kaitlin, 22, and Logan, 20, who survive her along with Kaitlin’s fiancé, Justin Richard; her mother, Sandra Frioux Borel and Weldon Grice; sister, Donna Borel Byars and husband, Mark; godchild, Lauren Byars; nephew, Mark Alan Byars; aunt, Lorraine Frioux Fletcher; uncle, Rodney Frioux; cousins, Deanna Fletcher Wilson and husband, Andrew, Angie Fletcher Smith, husband Brock and their son, Garrett; two very special aunts/cousins, Anita Ward and husband, Larry and Joyce McDonnell; and many more friends and relatives.
Michelle is preceded in death by her younger brother, Mark Borel; father, Donald Borel; grandmother, Nora Frioux; and her grandfather, Rivers Frioux. Although Michelle battled a chronic kidney disease and other illnesses for many years, she lived a full life surrounded by those she loved, including her constant companion & sweet dog, Zoey.
