Mickey Eaves, 74 of Port Acres, Texas passed away at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas July 6, 2009. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on April 26, 1935 to the late Henry Vestal and Blanche Eaves. He was retired from Gulf Oil Refinery where he worked as a machinist.He was the loving husband of Audrey Newsome Eaves of Port Acres devoted father of Joey Eaves, Jr. of Spring, Jill Matthews of Copper Canyon, Jan Hammonds of Friendswood, Julia Hardy of Missouri City, Susette Johnson of Wylie, and Stephanie Lynn Kim and husband John of Sausalito, California brother of John Hagen and wife Mary Lou of Port Acres, Richard and wife Jackie Hagen of Fanette, Janet Vestal of Port Arthur, and Dee Dee Hermann and husband Joe of Port Arthur cherished grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 4 greatgrandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.A gathering of family and friends will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Nederland on Thursday, July 9th, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.Funeral services will be Friday, July 10th, 2009 at Heritage Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Jeff Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County Cemetery in Nederland. Arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home, April Stewart funeral or.Serving as ballbearers are Jeffery Hammonds, James Hammonds, Daniel Matthews, Reece Hardy, Kevin Smith, and Joey Eaves.

Joey family, I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad was a wonderful man, I will never forget when I was in the accident at the pot pan parade he was the one person that stayed with me until they could find my parents and the ambulance came. He was so kind and gentle, he will be missed. My love to you and your family at this difficult time.Yvette
