Mike Nero, I, 62, of Port Neches, Texas passed away February 13, 2012 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. He was born August 11, 1949 in Port Neches, Texas to the late Verney David and Josephine Dragotta Nero. He was a retired welder and member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.A Mass of Christian Burial will be recited at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., Msgr. Bennie Patillo celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, February 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon39s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H in Nederland.Mike is preceded in death by his parents son, Michael David Nero, II and twins, Mary and Larry Nero. He is survived by his wife, Debby Ashworth Nero of Port Neches 4 daughters, Michelle Werner and husband, Ethan of Port Neches, Sherrill Nero, Stephanie Nero, and Sarah Nero, all of Groves sister, Lucy Thibodeaux and husband, Marshall of Port Neches brother, Ronnie Nero and wife, Carla of Port Neches and 5 grandchildren, Isaac, Cory, Mia, and Seth Werner, and Chance Prosperie.
