Mildred "Millie" Marie Yanta, 81, of Port Neches, Texas died Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Bonne Vie in Port Arthur, Texas. Millie was born June 20, 1937 in Wooster, Ohio to William Conrad and Celia Irene Smith Conrad. She was a resident of Port Neches for 47 years and a retired Port Arthur ISD Teacher with over 30 years of service. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Nederland and Kappa Delta Sorority. Millie graduated from Wooster High School in Wooster, Ohio in 1955. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Wittenberg College in Springfield, Ohio in 1959 and a Masters in Teaching in May of 1977 from Webster College in St. Louis, Missouri. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Yanta and her sister, Loretta Conrad. Surviving relatives include her daughter, Julia Yanta of Houston, Texas; son, Conrad Yanta and wife Terri of Port Neches, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Miriam Weathersby, Alexandra, Ashton and Addison Yanta; and grandson-in-law, David McCreary. Cremation is under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home Port Neches.
