Milford Hollis Wead, 77, of Nederland, Texas passed away on October 31, 2014 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. He was born on November 1, 1936 in Slagle, La to the late Melvin Wead and Vena Williams. He proudly served in the U. S. Army, and was employed as a switchman for KC Southern Railroad. He was a member of Magnolia Assembly of God.
He is survived by his son, Milford “Bubba” Wead, Jr. of Silsbee; daughter, Teresa Mazzara and husband, John of Port Arthur; sister, Alice Lacy of Yale, OK; grandchildren, Hollie Crowley and Courtney Wallace; great- grandchildren, Paytin, Rowdy, Gracie, Lyren. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and many close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Elizabeth Jane Wead, brother, Buster Williams, sister, Mamie Reed; and brother, Travis Wead; and grandchild, Nicole Mazzara.
Funeral services will be held at Magnolia Assembly of God in Port Neches on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland.
