Minnie Kelcher, 91, of Groves, Texas passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Bonnevie Nursing Home in Port Arthur.

Minnie was born on December 7, 1931, to Ivy Wismer Jones and Clyde Jones. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson in 1949 and was in the Red Hussars Drum and Bugle Corps. Minnie was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Port Arthur for many years and owned and operated Kelchers Catering for twenty five years doing weddings and other events which she loved to do. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a housewife that loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her son, Robbie Kelcher and his wife Cindy of Bridge City, Texas; grandchildren, Shawn Kelcher of Colorado, Courtney Martin and her husband Jason of Bridge City, Petra Andrews and her husband Jason of Kingwood; great grandchildren, Austin Kelcher, Cameron Martin, Makenzie Martin, Hayden Andrews and Haley Andrews; she was also a Nanny to Elizabeth and Victoria Margolis who were like her grandchildren.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Ivy Jones, her brother, Clyde Jones, Jr.; two sisters, Reona Munson and Eula Mae Lopez; her husband and love of her life, Robert “Bobby” Kelcher who passed away in 2008 and her son, Kirk Kelcher.

A gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.

Serving as Pallbearers will by Jason Martin, Cameron Martin, Shawn Kelcher, Austin Kelcher, Paul Perritt, Eric Thomason, David Spangle, Randy Wallace and Hayden Andrews.
