Minnie Barbra Morvent, 94, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, Texas. Minnie was born February 11, 1920 in Port Arthur, Texas to Lynn Merwin and Dora Weidman Merwin. She was a lifelong area resident and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Port Acres. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Allie Morvent, one sister and three brothers. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Benz of Nederland, Linda Monk and husband Randy of Bridge City, Judy Smith and husband Perry of Monroe, LA; three sons, Jimmy Morvent and wife Judy of Silsbee, Wayne Morvent and wife Carolyn of Silsbee, Jody Morvent of Groves; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church in Port Acres with Reverend Jeff Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will held on Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. A special thanks to her caregiver.
