Miriam Hebert, 73, of Port Arthur, passed away, January 14, 2017 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Miriam was born February 3, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joseph Nieves and Ana Estela Nieves. She was a Retired Caregiver, and a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Miriam was preceded in death by her Parents, brother, Victor Sosa, and granddaughter, Teri Ann Hardy. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Hebert Sr. of Port Arthur; daughters, Deborah Ann Hardy of Port Arthur, and Linda Whitley and her husband Michael of Orange; son Ronald David Hebert Jr. of Port Acres; brother, Samuel Nieves and his wife Anita of Florida; sisters, Aura Emma Soto of Tampa, Florida, Lillian Gutheil of California, and Raquel DeGuzman of Queens, New York; grandchildren, Holly Ann Whitley, Heather Nicole Whitley, and Cheyenne Nicole Hebert; also 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with Elder Mike Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
