Mr. Monty Ray Janeaux Sr., 63, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on November 4, 1957 to Donald M. Janeaux and Shirley Jean Cowart Janeaux.

Monty was a lifelong area resident of Port Arthur, Texas.

He was a ship fitter for over 40 years. Monty founded the band Westwind and was the lead guitar and vocals for many years. He loved to listen to music, fishing and enjoying a cold beer.

A memorial service will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 2208 Canal Street, Port Arthur, Texas 77640. The family asks that if you are bringing food to please arrive at 9:30 a.m.

Monty was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Jean Janeaux and brothers, Dale Janeaux and Paul Janeaux.

He is survived by his wife, Katia Janeaux of Port Arthur, father, Donald M. Janeaux and wife Marie of Port Arthur, sons, Monty Janeaux Jr. and wife Krystle of Nederland and Mickey Janeaux of Port Arthur, sister, Deborah Davies and husband Bill of Phoenix, brother, Donny Childs and wife Missy of Lumberton and grandchildren Christian, Kylie and Catelyn.

From the SFA CLASS OF 1975 we are so very sorry to hear of Montys passing . Please extend our Prayers and thoughts of our Dear friend and classmate to his family he will be missed by all of us. Monty always had a big smile for all of us when we were together for a reunion or class dinner.

I am his daughter in law ..everytime i would visit him or see him he would always hug me and tell me thank you for taking care my boy ..then we would just talk mess basic everyday stuff. He was always talking about his dogs and music He was always so nice to me .....last few weeks we all got to visit him he always smiling and happy to see us and the grandkids we will miss u dearly Love u dad
