Mozelle Umberger Womack Goodwin, 93, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Oak Grove Nursing Home. She was born August 18, 1923 in Port Arthur, Texas. Graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School June l942 and attended Port Arthur Business College. Mozelle worked as a machinist during World War II, and also worked at St. Mary Hospital. She retired from the City of Port Arthur after 30 years of service in the tax office. Mozelle was president of the Groves Chapter of Texas Senior Citizens, and a member of the Red Hats. She was an avid dominos player at Memorial Baptist Church of Port Arthur where she was a lifelong member. Survivors include her son, James Womack and his wife Susan;-granddaughters, Heather and Kristen Paul of New Hampshire; three great-grandchildren; nieces, Camella Holstead Gibson and Kathy Cantrell Sheffield; step-grandson, Christopher Soileau and step-granddaughter Crystal Wilson and her husband David. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Thelma Umberger; son, George "Mike" Womack, daughter, Charlene Womack Randall; grandson, William "B.G." Paul; first husband, George "Buster" Womack; last husband, George W. Goodwin; sister, Helen Umberger Cantrell and Louise Umberger Holstead; foster sister, Patsy Kitcherside Mason; step-children, Donna Goodwin Austin, Vicky Miller and George "Bud" Goodwin, Jr. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 24, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas with Reverend Danny Robbins officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
