Mrs. Wendell Faye Scott

1940 ∼ 2025

Wendell Faye Scott, a retired educator, peacefully passed away on April 14, 2025 at her home in Nederland, Texas at the age of 84. Wendell was a teacher for more than 30 years in the Sabine Pass ISD. Her impact as an educator will be fondly remembered by her students and colleagues. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Wendell always enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren from the sidelines, stands and all the other places their activities and accomplishments lead her to. She also supported animal rescues and opened her heart and home up to several little angels.

One of Wendell’s daily activities was playing Poker Stars online with free chips and having morning coffee with her friend. She also loved to fish.

Wendell leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory forward.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Norman, and her husband , Jeff, of Nederland; her son Carl Scott, and his wife, Tonya, of San Antonio; her beloved canine companion, Luna; and her grandchildren: Josh Hope; Chloe Roddy and her husband, Blake; Colton Winter; Morgan Scott; and Acie Scott. Also surviving Wendell are her great-grandchildren, Lola, Wiltz, Aubreyella, Poppy, and Azara. Wendell’s sister, Christie Andrepont, of Port Neches, and her sister of 47 years, Jean Capo, and her husband, Michael, of Nederland also survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Scott, as well as her parents, Wiltz and Urcille Landry, and her brother, Chad Landry.

By those who knew and loved her, she will be forever missed.

A visitation in honor of Wendell Scott will be on April 22, 2025 from 4:30-6:00 at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas 77627.

The family requests donations be made to an animal rescue organization, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Disabled American Veterans, or a charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers.

My best memory of Wendell Faye growing up was watching how she could crack a whip. To this day, whenever I see a cattle whip, I think of my dear cousin. Oh! And how she could whistle 😁 fly high sweet girl 🩵🙏

Oh, Mrs. Scott…you were such a light in my life. You were my 6th grade teacher and my favorite teacher! You were so fair and brought out the best in me. You always reminded me that my brother, Thomas gave you the rose that sat on your desk for years. You are so loved. Thank you. For everything! Rest well, dear heart!
