Murphy Terrence Thompson, 50, of Nederland, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016. Murphy was born March 13, 1966 in Roatan, Honduras. He was a lifelong resident of Nederland, TX and a graduate of Nederland High School. Murphy was a caring person with a good heart and a friend to all. He would do anything for a friend in need. He loved sports, was a great father and enjoyed watching his son play baseball.

He is survived by wife, April Thompson of Kountze, TX; son, Kyler Thompson of Kountze, TX; daughter, Bethany Thompson of Roatan, Honduras; father, Orville Thompson of Roatan, Honduras and mother, Sheila Jackson of Fort Worth, TX; brother, Craig Thompson and wife, Amanda of Nederland; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

There will be a memorial service on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, TX.

I was a Former Walmart Employee when I met you the first time. My Baby had Skull Surgery and you came up and asked what happened to her. I told you and you asked several Walmart Employees to Please bow their heads and us all hold hands so you could pray for my baby. You said every baby is a Gift from God. And you told me how I was doing a great job for my kids. Every single time I seen you, you were always so Happy and ALWAYS had a smile on your face. I wish I would of known your condition then and I would of kept you in my prayers. The world needs more people like you. I send my Condolences to your Family. Thank you for giving me hope, that things would get better for my Kids and I.
