Myril W. Scoggins, 88, of Beaumont, TX passed away at Gulf Health Care in Port Arthur, TX on August 13, 2011. He was born in Leesville, LA on July 27, 1923 to the late Lawrence H. Scoggins and Mamie Elizabeth Cole Scoggins. Myril was an area resident most of his life and proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was employed as an operator at Texaco and was a member of Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church.Myril is survived by his wife, Pauline Scoggins son, Warren V. Scoggins and wife Wilda of Nederland daughter, Paula Landry and husband Craig of Corpus Christi son, Wilton Scoggins and wife Carol of Port Neches son, Walton Scoggins of Dallas. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Anthony, Caleb, Joshua, Tiffany, Wendy and Tamara and by ten great grandchildren. Myril is also survived by two brothers: Billy Scoggins and Burnell Scoggins and two sisters: Lanelle Johnson and Gelena Bossier.Funeral services will be held at Melancon39s Funeral Home , 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, with Rev. Randy Hammer, Rev. Thomas Gibson and Rev. C. R. Bayham, officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 15, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
