Myrtle "Mert" Miller, 87, of Groves passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She was born on October 25, 1926 in Des Moines, Iowa to Mayo and Lillian Fontenot Courts. Myrtle had lived in Groves since 1953 and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She was employed as an operator with Bell Telephone and retired after 12 years of service. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend J. C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Myrtle is survived by her husband, Daniel "Dan" Miller (retired from Texaco Port Arthur) of Groves, TX, daughter, Roxann "Roxie" Broussard and husband, Ronnie of Groves, TX, son, David James Miller and wife, Karen of Arlington, TX., sister, Maxine Fontenot of Lafayette, LA., four grandchildren, Kim Thibodeaux and husband, Brian, Dr. Brandon Miller and wife, Janett, Shane Miller and wife, Katie, and Jerod Broussard and wife, Daphnee, and five great grandchildren, Blake, Ashley, Roman, Harper, and Deacon.
