Nancy Zyrangue Brown, 79, of Groves, passed away December 1, 2015. She was born April 2, 1936, in Groves, Texas to the late, Joseph & Fern Zyrangue.
Nancy was a member of Providence Church. Throughout life, Nancy loved riding horses, taking care of them and entering shows. In her early years, she worked for the Port Arthur Police Department in various capacities. She was also one of the original owners of Armentor’s Karate Academy and taught Judo. She touched a lot of lives while in the martial arts business. Nancy dedicated most of her adult life to the nursing profession and raising her children. She was a registered nurse, serving the community in various area hospitals. She specialized in ICU and Critical Care.
She is survived by her daughter, Lezlie Armentor-Romeo and husband, Steve, of Port Arthur; sons, Vince Armentor of Groves, Texas; Audy Armentor and wife, Jody of Huntsville, Texas; grandchildren, Shanna Trejo and husband, Jimmy of Arab, Alabama; Amy Britt and husband, Dustin of Houston, Texas; Gracie Armentor of Huntsville, Texas; great-grandchildren, Blake, Aiden, Adrian and Bentley Trejo; Phelan and Channing Britt and two grandchildren that Nancy has raised, Summer and Isaiah Stutts of Groves, Texas. Including her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Brown and her son Clint Armentor.
A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 4, 2015 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, with Rev. Clay Faulk, officiating.
Her family would like to thank Altus Hospice and the Baptist Hospital Hospice unit for the fine care rendered. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s name may be made to Lamar State College of Port Arthur Allied Health Department (where she studied nursing) and will be greatly appreciated.
