Nancy Louise LaFleur

1937 ∼ 2020

Nancy Louise LaFleur was born in Port Arthur, Texas on December 29th of 1937. Her parents Kenneth and Marion Rice had recently moved to Port Arthur from Pennsylvania. She was the middle child of three, with an older brother Thomas and a younger sister Alice. Nancy attended public school in the Groves school district, and played softball for the First Baptist Church. After attending Port Neches High School she married the love of her life at the young age of 18. Together with Winston she raised four boys, and cared for their aging parents. Nancy retired from the Nederland Independent School District in 1999, after working many years while the boys were in school. There she made many lifelong friends. After retirement, Nancy and Winston moved to Toledo Bend Lake and enjoyed many hours on the lake, and tending to her gardens and many flower beds. Family was always the most import thing in her life, whether it was her boys and their families, or in-laws who lived nearby, Nancy was a loving mother and a devoted wife who will be missed by many. Nancy passed quietly on January 11, 2020, surrounded by her family; she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings along with her son Kenneth P. LaFleur. Nancy leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Winston J. LaFleur, Sr. of Burkeville, Texas; three sons, Winston J. LaFleur, Jr. and wife Cindy of Friendswood, Texas, Russell J. LaFleur and wife Debra of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Lindsey T. LaFleur and wife Michelle of Port Neches, Texas; six grandchildren, Joseph I. LaFleur, Carisa D. Liechty, Kelsey R. LaFleur, Michael T. LaFleur, Autumn L. Bradley, and Kendra P. Davis; and great grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a Rosary recited at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 17, 2020 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Graveside service to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nancys name to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas www.houstonhospice.org .
