Naomi Wright Pugh, 92, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016. She was born on May 19, 1924 to the late Richard C. Wright and Martha Ann Smith.

Naomi is survived by her son, Jack N. Pugh III and wife Frances of Kountze, Texas; daughter, Gayle Hammonds and husband Roy of Hemphill, Texas and Catherine Cansler of Austin, Texas;

seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. She will be missed and loved by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack N. Pugh Jr.; 10 siblings and her granddaughter Kathy Marie Pugh Musgrove.

She belonged to the First United Methodist Church in Nederland, Texas. She volunteered for the Ladies Auxiliary at Mid-Jefferson Hospital. She loved to take care of her lawn, spend time outdoors and cared about all of her family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 5:00 in the evening until 8:00 at Melancon's Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County in Nederland, Texas.

Mom and Naomi were like sisters ... walking the track together, going out to eat together, shopping together and having lots of laughs together. I can just imagine what kind of trouble those two are getting into now! We were so blessed to have Naomi in our lives and Jackie, Gayle and Cathy, you are so lucky to have had her for so long. Praying that our Lord wraps his healing hands around you all during your time of grief.

I will always remember watching The Johnny Carson show with my granny. She would sit in her chair with her jar of ponds cold cream and take her make up off while she watched Johnny. She loved Johnny Carson and was so upset when he retired.
