Nathan Gean Newton, 47, of Beaumont, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at his residence in Beaumont with his loving family at his side.
Nathan was born on January 27, 1975, in Wichita Falls, Texas to Elizabeth Burk Newton and Harry Gene Newton. He played saxophone in the Wichita Falls High School Big Red Coyote Band. Nathan was a member of the Methodist faith and was a Peer Support Specialist with Gulf Health Care. He loved to cook and watch classic movies on TV; he especially loved watching the Golden Girls with his family and friends. Nathan was a very spiritual and intellectual person who was very thoughtful and kind and who loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his husband, David Bearden of Beaumont; son, Nathan Reid Newton of Iowa Park, Texas; parents, Harry and Elizabeth Newton of Wichita, Falls; granddaughter, Brynnlea Newton of Iowa Park; step-daughter, Payton Quatt and her children, Noah, Sawyer and Parker; sister, Melaina Armstrong of Wichita Falls, nieces, Ryann Gregory Marnell and Lauren Lozipone; nephew, Trenton Hafley.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry Howard Newton and Merle Newton; Joel Barham and Roy Dean Burk.
A visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. A Celebration of Life “Memorial Service” to Honor the Life of Nathan Gean Newton will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private family cremation services will take place at a later date.
A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers "Memorial Contributions" can be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas or the ARC of Wichita County.
