Neava Yentzen, age 95, of Port Arthur passed away on Saturday February 1, 2014 at her residence. She was born on January 19, 1919 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Arlie Lapeyrolerie and Aline Michel. Neava was a resident of Port Arthur for sixty-two years and was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at St. James Catholic Church in Port Arthur on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Father J. C. Coon, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Port Arthur. A gathering family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home, 1605 Ave. H in Nederland on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sonny Yentzen, Jr.; daughter, Lydia Wolford and brother, Stanford Lapeyrolerie. Neava is survived by two sons, Gene Yentzen and wife, Judy of Fredricksberg; Charles Yentzen and wife, Donna of Port Arthur; daughters, Aline Jacobs and husband, Tom of Prairieville, LA; Lou Ellen Roccaforte and husband, Charles of Port Neches; Peggy Delino and husband, Henry of Port Neches, Alice Kemp and husband, Gary of Brooklin, Gayle Liscano and husband, Lorenzo, Jr. of Port Arthur; sisters, Ula Perez of Independence, LA; Mona Gaudin of Lafayette, LA and Ina Brownlow of Slidell, LA; brother, Arlie Lapeyrolerie of Bridge City and 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
