Nelda Pool

Nelda Pool, 91, of Groves passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Henderson Health and Rehabilitation Center in Henderson, Texas, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.

She was born July 27, 1929 in Brockfield, Texas to Dewey Lee Jones and Mary Edna Rousseau Jones.

Nelda was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Groves and a devoted Christian wife and mother. Her home was where all the family loved to get together to visit, laugh and play. And, of course, you knew you were going to eat a great meal from her kitchen.

A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches with her nephew, Joe David Pool officiating.

Nelda was preceded in death by her husband, David O. Pool, her daughter, Feta Joy Howard and her brother, Aaron Lee Jones.

She is survived by her son, Jack Odell Pool and wife Carole of Tyler, Texas, sisters, Reta Faye Burks of Henderson, Texas, Doris Arlene Stockhome of Beaumont, Texas and Dottie Dean Newton and husband David of Henderson, Texas, sister in law, Kathy Jones of Nederland, Texas, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The SPCA of Texas or the charity of your choice.

Jack and Family our prayers are with you during this time of loss. Mother and Nelda spent many joyful hours together at Friendship I know there will be rejoicing when everyone gets together in Heaven.

Sweet, sweet Aunt Nelda. Me and Jack stayed out too late. She was waiting on the porch when we got home. Sweetest fussing I ever got. And COOK. Gonna miss her so. Heaven got brighter on 9/19/20.
