Nelda Jean Rogers, 83, of Nederland passed away on June 20, 2024. She was born on March 3, 1941, in Jefferson County, and her final moments were in Beaumont, Texas.
Nelda dedicated a significant portion of her life to serving at Big Lots before retiring gracefully. Her work ethic and commitment left a lasting impact on those around her. Aside from her career, Nelda cherished her hobbies, finding joy in sewing, bowling, coloring, and completing Dot-to-dot books.
A vibrant personality known for her love of people, Nelda epitomized grace and elegance. She had a special way of connecting with everyone she met and took pride in always presenting herself impeccably adorned with jewelry.
Family held the utmost importance in Nelda's heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ella and Elzey Ardoin, her adored husband of fifty-six years, B.E. Rogers, and grandson Bryant Edward Stanley. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew Nelda.
In the wake of her passing, Nelda leaves behind a legacy carried on by her surviving loved ones. She is survived by her daughters Cheryl Ann Fertitta and her husband Daniel of Nederland and Vicki Rogers Stansbury of College Station. Nelda's grandchildren Cody Alan Stansbury, Ashley Ann Hinojosa and husband Martin, Dugan Stanley and wife Sally continue her legacy as do her great-grandchildren Joseph Stanley, Carly Stanley, Arthur Hinojosa, Ava Stansbury and even a great-great-grandchild Kaison Stanley.
A woman of profound love and warm memories, Nelda Jean Rogers will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched. Her spirit lives on through the love she shared and the memories she created.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home located at 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas 77627. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens located at 4560 Highway 87 S, Orange, Texas 77630.
