Nellie Margaret Dailey, 90, of Groves, Texas passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. She was born June 8, 1921 in Jasper, Alabama to E. A. Rutledge and Pernie Kilgore Rutledge. Nellie was a resident of Groves for 71 years. She was employed as a sales clerk and buyer for Dryden's and retired after 25 years of service. She was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include her sister, Lucille Roberts of San Jose, CA; nephews, Richard Everett and wife, Debbie of Buna, David Everett and wife, Marilyn of Bridge City, Robert Everett and wife, Susan of Bridge City, Ricky Dailey and Mark Dailey; and niece, Jolene LeBlanc. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Cliff Carlin officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Aunt Nell was so special to so many. I wanted to say good by in person, was out of state. She had so much love for her extended family and was a wonderful role model for the women in her life. I will miss her greatly. Give Big Mamma A hug from me, Debbi

Nell was a dear friend.Pain was not short lived in her life. The pain of lost of her loved ones was carried quietly in her heart for years.We laughed & encouraged each other, as we knew each other so well.She allowed me to share my family with her, &likewise shared the lives of her nieces and nephews,near& far.Great pride &joy always came across as she shared parts of their lives.Even though she had no hope for grandchildren of her own,she so enjoyed stories of those she loved.Her thoughtfulness was a big part of her.Sending cards on many occasions to so many. As her last tear fell she left behind the toils of this world & entered into eternal life with her sweet Savior. Nell and Leo were our neighbors while growing up in the 60s and 70s on Gulf Ave. They were wonderful people and taught me the value of having good neighbors. My condolences to the family.

Nell was a special lady with great taste. She lived for her family. She was so very proud of Mike and now she will be reunited with him. Rest in peace, nell.
