Nellie Elizabeth Linscomb went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2017. She was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma on October 9, 1925 and lived in Nederland, TX for most of her adult life. Nellie, a talented pianist, organist, and quilter, loved serving Jesus and others. She had a special place in her heart for missions and orphans, and she served as church secretary and organist at Central Gardens Baptist Church in Nederland for many years. Nellie left a lasting legacy of compassion and love for her children, Mary McKenzie and husband Tim, Melinda Andress, and Kelli Linscomb of Nederland, TX, and grandchildren, Thomas E. Grimes, Jr, Michelle Copeland and husband Michael, Chris McKenzie, Hayley Andress, and Shelby Noack. Nellie also had two great grandchildren, Cameron Copeland and Evan Copeland. Nellie is preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Leslie (T.L.) Linscomb and her oldest daughter, Leslie Nell Grimes. An intimate homecoming celebration to honor Nellie's precious life will take place Monday, June 5 at 2:00 PM at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches, TX. There will be a memorial service to follow at Central Gardens Baptist Church in Nederland, TX. In honor of Nellie, please consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association or Naomi's Village in Kenya.
