Nicholis Joseph Guarnere, 93, of Groves, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018, in Groves. Nicholis was born on June 12, 1924 in Port Arthur to the late Samuel Guarnere and Mary Morrell Guarnere. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a retired clerk for the Port Arthur Postal Service. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Groves.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 71 years, Annie Elizabeth Mirabella Guarnere of Groves; son, David Guarnere and wife, Pam of Port Arthur; daughter, Frances Morrell and husband, Charles of Port Neches; grandchildren, Angela Kay Contreras and husband, Jose, David S. Guarnere, Jr. and wife, Staci, Jody Morrell, Kevin Morrell and Mark Morrell; great-grandchildren, Cross Coburn, Greyson Guarnere, Isabella Contreras and Landon Guarnere; extended family, Quincy Faulk and Marvin Reeves. Nicholis is preceded in death by his parents; son, Darryl V. Guarnere; brothers, Vincent and Kelly Guarnere; sister, Carmen Rasa.
