Nola Faye McFarland, 88, of Port Acres, Texas passed away June 4, 2021. She was born in Port Acres, Texas on February 8, 1933 to the late William H. Hranicky, Sr. and Bertha Britten. She was a proud member of the Jade Avenue Baptist Church for 80 years and Calvary Baptist for two years. Nola loved bowling, sewing and fishing, and was a member of the Port Arthur Bass Club for 25 years. She was proud to provide services as a Notary Public, and worked for multiple companies, such as Luke Brothers Ent., The Port Arthur News, and Guzardo’s. She was a very loving person and was loved equally in return.
Those left to cherish Nola’s memory are her husband of 70 years, Perryman McFarland; her children, Terry McFarland and his wife Kathy of Bridge City, Mike McFarland and his wife Bali of Port Acres, and Jana Neel and her husband Gerald of Port Acres; her grandchildren, Michelle Cauley, Nikki Thibodeaux, Brent McFarland, Brandy McFarland, Josh McFarland, Mellissa Naylor, and Tonya Vela; eleven great-grandchildren; her brother, William Hranicky, Jr.; and her sisters, Della Landry and Dorothy McFarland. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Timothy McFarland; and her brothers, Clyde Hranicky, Marvin Hranicky, and Frank Hranicky.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Brother John Jones officiant. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
