Norma Jean Hays, 92, of Beaumont, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at her residence in Beaumont.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
She was born in Italy, Texas, on December 11, 1929, she was the daughter of Sam and Opal Morgan.
She was an area resident of Southeast Texas for over forty years. She worked in the office of Dr. Drawhorn for many years. After moving to Houston, she became Executive Secretary at MD Anderson. She owned a Candy Store and gift shop when she lived in Waxahachie, Texas. She also was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Neches where she loved attending the Amazing Grace Widows luncheon. Her hobbies included crochet, sewing, oil painting, and traveling, as well as listening to the Gaither’s, and other gospel music.
She was preceded in death by Joe Poulter, the father of her sons, and widowed by Robert Hays, two brothers, Howard, and Wayne Morgan.
She is survived by her two sons, Randal Poulter and his wife Paula of Port Neches, TX; Steve Poulter of Beaumont, TX; two grandchildren, Andrew Poulter and Christy Cowart and her husband John; three great-grandchildren, Caylin Pinder and her husband Chase, Eli Cowart, Ella Cowart; two great-great-grandchildren, Cameron Pinder, and Caroline Pinder; sisters, Charlene McDonald and her husband Don of North Richland Hills, TX; Wanda Sevier of Greenville, TX; and brother, Gerald Morgan and his wife Fran of Waxahachie, TX.
