Norma Lee “Tiny” White, 94, of Port Acres, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at her son’s residence in Lumberton, Texas.
Norma was born on February 28, 1929, in Port Arthur, Texas to Lula Hemmingway Purgahn and Mox Purgahn. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Acres and was the former owner/operator/wedding coordinator for White’s Catering for over forty years. Norma loved to bake cakes and enjoyed making flowers; she was known as a “jack of all trades.” Mostly though, she loved her family… especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norma was a wonderful and loving person; she will be missed.
Survivors include her son, Max White and his wife Linda of Lumberton; daughters, Susan Judice and her husband Mike of Sun City; and Sheila Ann White of Port Acres; her sister, Selma Darder of Colmesneil; grandchildren: Johnathan White & wife Laurinda, Jason White & wife Kelly, Jennifer Judice Whittington & husband Mark, and Lorrie Judice McLean & husband James; thirteen great-grandchildren: Tyler & wife Amber, Kelsey & husband Andrew, Gracie, Josie, Serenity, Colby, Owen, Zoey, Ava, Dawson, Dylan, Colton, and Gracie; and one great-great-grandchild, Kinley, on the way.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Mox and Lula Purgahn; her brother, Max Purgahn; and sister, Winona Peveto; granddaughter, Kelly Judice; and her husband of fifty-seven years, Walton White, Jr.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Melancon Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Johnathan White, Jason White, Colby White, Owen White, Tyler White, and James McLean.
