A Life Remembered

Obituary

Norman Donald Mouton

Norman Donald Mouton, born September 24, 1937 passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025.

Don was a man of few words, but a very successful man, rich of life itself. He was a husband and father, a hard-working provider for his family. He had the opportunity to fulfill several of his dreams growing up before and after serving his country in the US Army 27th Infantry. He found time to participate in the boxing world and was quite successful, becoming a Golden Glove Boxer. He and his fellow Band members were also very successful in their high school years, ranking in the top 10 bands of America. He played the trumpet and played it well that he landed a scholarship to McNeese University. His greatest love would have to be football. He played in high school wearing jersey #17 and watched it every night it was on.

He retired from Dupont in Orange, Texas at the age of 58 years old, which gave him time to spent many many years to enjoy new hobbies from time to time, he even bought himself a Harley at 65. His most impressive transformation however was his walk with the Lord, he was completely transformed and knew the Lord,

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mouton, Step-daughter, Gail Barnett, Mother, Deloyce Dickerson Mouton of Merryville, Louisiana, and Father, Lucian Mouton.

He is survived by his two daughters, Donna Denise Tekell and husband, Keith Tekell of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Gwendolyn Kay Mouton of Nederland, Texas, two stepsons, John and James Riddle, two step grandchildren, Barrett and his wife, Jessica Riddle, JD and his wife Ashley Riddle, and three step great grandchildren, JoJo, James, and Kelian Riddle.

He will forever be Loved and missed.
