Odon “Rodney” Hebert, 78, of Port Neches, Texas passed away September 11, 2020. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on January 27, 1942 to the late Odon Hebert and Mary Pillow Hebert. Rodney retired from Texaco Human Resource Department after 32 years of service where he served as a Union Chairman. Rodney was a longtime devout member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches and served his country proudly in the U. S. Army. Rodney loved fishing, gardening, but mostly spending time with his grandkids who lovingly called him PawPaw.
Those left to cherish Rodney’s memory are his daughter, Amber Comeaux and her husband Jed of Port Neches; his son, Aaron Hebert and his wife, Roxana of Houston; his grandkids, Kaylin Comeaux, Madison Comeaux, Elijah Hebert, Lukas Hebert, and Lex Hebert; his loving extended grandkids, Lynsey Comeaux, Kennedy Comeaux, Brennan Comeaux, Kason Comeaux, and Jaxson Depiano; his brother, James David Wistner and his wife Sandy of The Woodlands; his sister, Margaret Williams of Houston; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Jack. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Ann Hebert; and his brothers, Bill Hebert, Donald Hebert, Kenneth Hebert, and Randy Wistner.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 1:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
