Ouida Mae Neal

May 11, 1923 — October 28, 2019

Ouida Mae Hilbun Neal, was born May 11, 1923, left this world Saturday, September 28, 2019 after a long and very wonderful life. She was the light of our world. Her love of life, special shining humor, love of growing plants, amazing cooking skills and love of family will never be forgotten. Ouida was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Port Arthur and currently First Baptist Church of Nederland. She was a very active church member, serving in support of so many of the youth programs throughout the years. Ouida was the last building manager for the World Trade Center/Adams building in Port Arthur, and was employed for many years at Bob Blanton & Son Insurance and Realtor as office manager. She was a member of Business Professional Womens Club of Port Arthur. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Hoyt E. Neal, Sr.; and her brothers Otis Otto Hilbun, and Alfred Woodrow Hilbun. Survivors include her three sons, Hoyt E. Neal, Jr. and wife Karen of Dallas, David D. Neal and wife Cynthia of Houston, and Thomas "Tom" G. Neal and wife Linda of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Sean Neal, Jeremy Neal, Alice Neal Paakkonen, Sarah Neal Hall, Laura Beth Neal Garmon, Ragan Neal, Grant Neal, and Jennifer Long; great-grandchildren, Harper Neal, Paxton Hoyt Neal, Joshua Garmon, Aurora Garmon, Thomas Michael Neal, Jackson Hoyt Neal, Owen Hall, Hazel Hall, Finnegan Neal, and Reagan Long, and Berkeley Long. A small brief family graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2019 at All Souls Mausoleum in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Dr. Ray Meador officiating under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A family celebration and life gathering will be held at a later date.
