O.W. "Dub" Withrow, Jr.

1949 ∼ 2025

O.W. "Dub" Withrow, Jr., passed away on June 15, 2025, at the age of 75 in Beaumont, Texas. Born on June 28, 1949, in Houston, Texas, Dub devoted his life to public service, dedicating over 33 years and 9 months to the Port Arthur Police Department, where he served with honor and distinction.

In addition to his extensive career in law enforcement, Dub proudly served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam War, a period that profoundly shaped his character and commitment to community. His passion for serving the public was evident in every aspect of his life. He cherished the bonds he formed with those he protected and worked alongside, earning respect and admiration throughout his career.

Dub is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Pam Withrow of Nederland, Texas. He leaves behind a loving family, including his son, Bryan W. Withrow of Kapolei, Hawaii; his sisters, Marla L. Easton and her husband, Robert of Peoria, Arizona, and Joni C. Withrow and her husband, Gary Milke of North Pole, Alaska. He was also the proud uncle of nephews, Shane Jackson and his wife, Alysia, Steven Jackson, Ralph Valenciano, and Ben Miller, and nieces, Lauren DeVany and her husband, Doug, Lori Hazlerig and her husband, Eliott, Brittany Garoutte and her husband, Harley, and Jamie Hargrave and her husband Robbie. The joy of great-nieces and nephews, Sloane DeVany, Quinn DeVany, Victoria Scales, Tyler Jackson, Caitlyn Valenciano, Lil Ralph Valenciano, Syrea Barton, Jake Whitehead, Trevor Garoutte, Tatum Garoutte, Emma Garoutte,  Zane Garoutte, Jordan Hargrave, Brianna Hargrave, Cody Hargrave, and MaKenzi Hargrave brightened his later years. Dub’s family and friends will always remember him for his generous heart and unwavering support.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ormel W. Withrow, Sr. and Nova M. Withrow, and his sister, Kim M. Harris.

A gathering of family and friends honoring Dub will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas 77627, followed by a funeral service to begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland.

As we remember Dub, let us celebrate a life filled with love for family, dedication to duty, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. His legacy of service, kindness, and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.  The family would like to offer a special thank you to DaVita, where he took Dialysis and Harbor Hospice for the loving care they gave to our loved one.  A very heartfelt thank you to his family in Blue, his brothers and sisters of the Police force.

Dub was a exceptional man. Cared for people and loved his job. I met him and Pam in early 70's. They were made for each other. Love at first sight. Had a Marriage that most people yearn for. My prayers go out for Pam and Bryan and all his family. He will be missed by many. God is with him now.
