P. J. Martin, 79, of Nederland, Texas passed away on March 20, 2018. He was born on September 24,1938 in Lake Arthur, Louisiana to the late Eddie Martin and Bertile LeJune Martin. P. J. proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.
P. J. is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Broussard Martin of Nederland; his sons, Lynn Martin and his wife, Robbie of Beaumont and Charles Martin and his wife, Ann of Sour Lake; his daughters, Paulette Harvill of Nederland and Melissa Casey and her husband, Curtis of Port Neches; his brother, Horace Martin; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Clyde Martin; and his sister, Irene Craigen.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Father Shane Baxter, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
