Patricia Elizabeth Laurents, 60, of Groves, Texas passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at Gulf Health Care Center. Patricia was born March 19, 1957 in Port Arthur, Texas to James Neil Laurents and Sara Swearingen Laurents. She was a lifelong area resident and member of First Baptist Church Groves. Patricia was an avid fan of the PNG Indians and loved keeping up with their accomplishments. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, B.R. and Maudine Swearingen, and Anna Laurents LeBeouf. Survivors include her parents, James and Sara Laurents of Groves; daughter, Rachel Laurents of Groves; sisters, Debby Tibbetts and her husband Mike of Roundrock, Shally Hollier and her husband Cap of Groves; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2017 at First Baptist Church Groves, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Joe Worley and Reverend Charles Miller officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: First Baptist Church Groves, 4000 Grant Avenue; Groves, TX 77619.

I'm deeply saddened to hear the news about Patty....we go waaay back and I have very fond memories of her. I too know that she was a true PNG INDIAN fan and it showed through her beautiful smile. She will be missed by many....may you forever Rest In Peace my friend.
