Patricia Lynn Moss

1951 ∼ 2022

Patricia Lynn Moss, 70, of Mauriceville, Texas passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, at her residence in Mauriceville.

Patricia was born on May 20, 1951, in Flint, Michigan to Neva May Wiggins and George Patrick Wiggins.

Patti was known for being a hard worker. From administration and management in various fields, to manicuring, to roofing, designing and building her home, painting, crafting unique décor and gifts, caring for water lilies and shubunkins, baking creative birthday cakes and holiday treats, to brainstorming her next project – she stayed busy. She loved sharing the joy and fruit of her labors with family and friends. And it’s no surprise that she donated her body to Science Care to make sure she would work for the good of others as long as possible.

Every season of her life came with unique stories of the many steps she took through each, trademarked by her wit and humor that inspired others to press forward and get the job done. She showed exceptional talent and care in everything she put her heart and hands to. Patti was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many people and will forever be loved by them.

Survivors include her son, Joey R. Smith and his wife Heather of Mauriceville, daughter, Jocelyn Barnett and her husband Stephen of Nederland; siblings, Victor Wiggins, Sidney “PeeWee” Wiggins and Annette Tracy; grandchildren, Jonathon Gruner, Jennifer Gruner, Wesly Smith, Destiny Gantz, James Barnett and Daniel Barnett; great grandchild, Jude Cherry.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, George and Neva Wiggins and her brother, Wesley J. Wiggins.

My best friend, my grandmother, my guardian angel. Many times throughout my life, the only person I felt truly understood me. There was never a dull moment with Grandma Patti, and I can still hear her contagious, heart warming laugh. This woman had the best jokes, made the best drinks, had the worlds greatest taste in music, and absolutely knew how to make the best out of any situation. There was no task to large, or too small, that she wasn’t willing to go after head, food, or fist first. She was a fighter her whole life for her beliefs and for her passions, every moment until the very end. I remember so many times being in some situation, having no idea what to do-or who to call, and she was always there to answer. She always knew exactly what to say, and she had a wonderful way of restoring hope for the future in every conversation. Though we never got the chance to just “get-up-and-go” in an RV, we enjoyed many journeys together, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Jude talks about how much Grandma Patti loves him, and how much he loves her. We are so grateful for the relationship they were able to have, as it is not often great-grandchildren get to meet their great-grandparents…and Grandma Patti truly was one of the greatest of them all! She led her life by her love language—Acts of Service. Everything she did was for those she loved, and for loving herself the best she could. This insane amount of will to accomplish anything and everything will be deep in my heart and soul for as long as I shall live, and I hope to goodness one day I’ll be even a fraction of the badass the she was throughout her lifetime. As we always said, I’ll say again...”Love you Lots”

My condolences. As cousins I remember having fun up north at the cabin. The times we had Thanksgiving Dinner with the whole family at Grandpa Archive's many years ago. When the Dad's did the dishes tossing them around to each other to dry. All my love Vicki Jo. So sorry for your loss.
