Mrs. Pylate was one of my first youth leaders. She set an inspiring example of being the hands and feet of Jesus. She also led me in one of my first ever Bible studies on Faith. She was an amazing prayer warrior. My condolences to Mr. Pylate , Melinda and Chandra. May God comfort you until you see Pat in Heaven.

I remember Mr & Mrs Pylate and their girls from Seventh Street Baptist Church. They were humble leaders for so many including my 2 sisters. Mrs Pylate was one of several youth leaders when I attended this church. It is always so comforting to know someone’s true citizenship after passing through our temporary earthly home. May God comfort all of you during this time. Delana Cowart Keenan

My sisters and I just heard about Pat’s passing. Pat Pylate was one of the most godly women we have ever known. God used her in the life of our family to be a sweet blessing in so many ways. She was a dear friend to the Dammon family. I still remember the day in my senior year of high school when she asked me to preach the evening service for youth day at our church, Seventh Street Baptist in Nederland. That started a series of events in my life that continues to this day. I’ve been preaching, pastoring, and serving as a missionary for 42 years now, and Pat was the person who inspired me and whom God used in the very beginning. Our prayers are with James and the whole family. See you before too much longer, Pat! Johnny Dammon Pastor, First Baptist Church Lake Charles, Louisiana

I met Mrs. Pylate when I was 6 years old. My first impression is the one I have today, 52 years later, a woman filled with the love of God. A life lived well in the presence of God... I am a life that was changed. My condolences to her family. Kathy Jones Waddleton

I cannot remember a time when Mrs. Pylate was not in my life. She was forever present in so many beautiful roles. My parents' very good friend (along with James), my piano teacher, my Sunday School teacher, my prayer warrior, my children's' prayer warrior, and eventually my own very dear friend. Watching the wonderful video Melinda and Chandra put together, I am reminded of all the things at which she excelled. No one worked like Mrs. Pat. No one prayed like Mrs. Pat. No one cooked like Mrs. Pat! No one gave like Mrs. Pat and James. And she listened with such intensity. Even when I was young and foolish, she listened to me like I had something to say. Her responses to me always pointed me to the Father. One memory I know my sisters share with me is Mrs. Pat coming to our house, knocking on our door, and saying, "I just have a minute..." Her car would be running (to inspire her quick departure). She and Mom would start to talk and we knew there was no way in the world this conversation was going to wrap up anytime soon. I just knew one day her car would run out of gas before they ran out of things to talk about. James, Melinda, Chandra, and family, my prayers are with you all. How blessed you were to have her as your wife, mom, etc. The Busbys were blessed to have her as a friend. Now heaven is blessed to have her home. With Love, Cassie Busby Robbins
