Patsy Darder, 87, of Nederland, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Patsy was born on April 1, 1935, to Catherine Hooks Hastings and Elliot Leon Hastings in Nederland, Texas. Patsy devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her family. She graduated from Nederland High School in 1952. Patsy was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches. Patsy served in the Alter Society where she was the past President; she also participated in the Bereavement Committee.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Elliot and Catherine Hastings and her husband of sixty-four and a half years, Oray Paul Darder who passed away in November 2016.
Survivors include her son, Mike Darder and wife Janette of Beauxart Gardens, five daughters, Paula Kay of Kountze, Pam Crain and her husband Charles of Nederland, Karen Linscomb and her husband Curtis of Beauxart Gardens, Sherry Darder of Nederland, Patti Smith and her husband Michael of Nederland, ten grandchildren, David Sheffield and his wife Shelly, Charlotte Junot and her husband Jacob, Shelley Crain, Kimberly Nelson and her husband Josh, Aaron Kay, Teresa Nguyen and her husband Thanh, Crystal Walker and her husband Charles Walker III, Jessica Darder, Amanda Hebert, Bryce Darder; thirteen great grandchildren, Garrison Sheffield, Austin Junot, Ashlyn Junot, Kamden Nelson, Brayden Nelson, Roman Nelson, Julianne Nguyen, Annabeth Nguyen, Zoe Nguyen, Natalie Walker, Jackson Walker, Macayla Hebert and Makenzie Hebert; several nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas with a gathering of Friends and Family to take place from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
Serving as Pallbearers will be her son-in-law’s, Charles Crain, Curtis Linscomb; grandsons, David Sheffield, Aaron Kay, Jacob Junot and Josh Nelson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Smith, Phil Cuevas, Bryce Darder, Thanh Nguyen and Charles Walker, III.
