Patsy was born on August 27, 1938 to Malcolm and Zerilda Johnson in Port Neches, Texas. Patsy was a lifelong resident of Port Neches and Nederland, Texas. She retired after 30 years of employment as Payroll Manager from Gulf Consolidated Services and 5 years of employment from Taylor Medical. Patsy attended First Assembly of God in Port Neches and Nederland until 2020, then she began attending First Baptist Church in Nederland.
Patsy lived a wonderful life and family was very dear to her. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. Her favorite place to visit was Graceland in Memphis. Patsy was a huge Elvis fan and attended many of his concerts. Patsy was a selfless person. If anyone needed help, she was right there to offer assistance or find someone who could. She and her friends were huge prayer warriors. Everyone knew, if you need prayer, call Patsy. Her prayer warrior list consisted of many family members and friends. They knew how to get the job done.
Survivors include her Brother; Michael Lynn Johnson and wife Kay of Greer, SC and sister-in-law; Elaine McInnis Johnson of Kingwood, TX. Nieces and Nephews; Patrick Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Tracey Johnson, Karen Johnson Frederick and husband John, Grant Johnson, Jennifer Johnson Folk and husband Jason, Troy Johnson and wife Joanne, Kimberly Johnson Cooley and husband Chris and Pam Sims and husband Bruce. Great Nieces and Nephews; Julie Frederick White, Blake Gonzales, Natalie Cooley, Maggie Cooley, Gracie Cooley, Mollie Folk, Alexander Johnson, Caroline Johnson, Ella Johnson, Grant Johnson, Bryce Sims and Brandon Sims. Great-great Niece; Ireland White.
Patsy had numerous cousins and friends that were very special to her which she considered a big part of her life.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents; Malcolm Joseph and Zerilda Ruth Johnson, Brothers; Malcolm Earl Johnson and wife Willette, Pat Edward Johnson and wife Gertie, Jerry Leon Johnson and Danny Ray Johnson. Nieces; Sharlene and Darlene Johnson. Nephews; Mark and Stephen Johnson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas. The Rev. Dr. Jason Burden will officiate the services.
