Paul D. Bennett, Jr., 90, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010. Paul was born January 22, 1920 in Fredericksburg, Ohio to Paul D. Bennett and Louisa Herron Bennett. He was a resident of Groves for 53 years and retired from Texaco Chemical as an electrician after 23 years of service. He was a member of Harlingen Masonic Lodge #1132 AF & AM, Galveston Consistory Scottish Rite; and IBEW 479. He was a World War II U.S. Air Corp veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna E. Bennett and son, Charles R. Bennett. Survivors include his daughter, Luana Winn of Tyler; sons, Marshall Lee Bennett of Port Arthur and Allen Paul Bennett of Tyler; three grandson and two granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 13, 2010 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend Mike Eaves officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Groves Masonic Lodge #1315. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. at the funeral home. P.D. was a good man. I worked around him at the plant for a number of years and never heard any thing bad about him. Regards to the family, I know he will be missed.

Staff at Groves Public Library were always delighted to see Mr. Bennett. He loved to read, he was always pleasant, and it was obvious that he enjoyed life--wherever it took him. He will be missed. Kaye Jones, Circulation Staff.
