Paula Davis Adaway, 68, of Nederland was reunited with her daughter, Stacy Lynn Sloane on Monday, October 23, 2023. Paula was born on March 26, 1955 in Port Arthur, Texas to James and Bettie Davis.
Paula was a member of First Methodist Church in Nederland. She enjoyed outings with the church ladies and she loved to volunteer with the church. Paula was a loving wife, Mom, MawMaw and Superwoman to her family. Family was the most important thing to Paula; she devoted and cherished every minute with them.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, James F. “Arky” Davis and Bettie Joy (Cowart) Davis; sister, Phyllis Theriot; daughter, Stacy Lynn Sloane.
Those left to cherish Paula’s memory include her husband of 50 years, Richard Adaway of Nederland; daughter, Brandy Stevens of Tyler, TX; son-in-law, Michael Sloane of Mont Belvieu, TX; bonus daughter, Trudy Williams; grandchildren, Justin Sloane of Mont Belvieu; Bailey Sloane of Rosenberg, TX; Tyler Stevens of Tyler; bonus grandson, Treece Wallace of Nederland; great grandchild, Bennett Sloane of Mont Belvieu; brothers, Randy Davis of Dallas, TX, Mike Davis of Groves, Texas; brother-in-law, John Theriot of Nederland; and a host of other family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Pallbearers include Sam Bailey, Jay Sloane, Justin Sloane, John Theriot, Jason Theriot, and Treece Wallace. Honorary pallbearers include Harold Busby, Randy Davis, Mike Davis and Michael Sloane.
A visitation for Paula will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland. A Celebration of Paula’s Life will be on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home in Nederland. Interment will follow at Memory Garden’s Cemetery in Nederland.
