Paula Suzanne Capps

1952 ∼ 2015

Paula Suzanne Capps beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, best friend, mother-in-law, cousin, niece, neighbor of Nederland passed away peacefully on February 17 at the age of 62, after a brief but brave battle with cancer. She is survived by daughter Allison Powell Jernigan and son-in-law John; grandsons Brayden and Gavin; brother Dr. Charles James Capps III and wife Patricia; great-aunt and uncle, who lovingly served as caregivers in final days, Mary and Chester Broussard; best friend Krissy Boudreaux; and many family and friends who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Charles James Capps Jr and mother, Ruby Reed Capps. The family will receive friends at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas. A special thank you to the staff of Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care and kindness.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Paula. I went to school with her and Charles and thought of her many times through the years. May God comfort those who are hurting from the loss of Paula. She was one of the sweetest people anyone could know.

Sweet Paula Capps. As sweet as all the Capps. She always had your back. If Paula was in your space, you were always giggling with delight. She was priceless in that regard and so much more. She warmed my heart more than once and I thank her for that. God bless you, sweetie. I love you and I intend to see you on the other side of life.

I met Paula in the 1st grade at Woodcrest Elementary School and attended all 12 grades together in the PNG school system. Sincere sympathy is extended to the family. RIP Paula.
