Pauline E. Barker

1932 ∼ 2024

Pauline E. Barker

Pauline E. Barker, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-great grandmother, peacefully departed this life on August 26, 2024, at the age of 91. Born on November 2, 1932, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Pauline warmed the hearts of those around her with her kindness and laughter.  Pauline dedicated a significant portion of her professional life to serving as the secretary for the police chief of Port Arthur, where she was employed for ten years. Her contributions during this time reflected her commitment to her community and her unwavering work ethic.

Outside of her career, Pauline had a vibrant spirit and enjoyed indulging in one of her favorite pastimes—shopping. This love for shopping was not merely a hobby but a way for her to connect with friends and family, adding joy and excitement to their lives.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Stacy Westmoreland and her husband, Mike of Groves; son Jeff Martin and his wife, Daphne of Austin; daughter Jenny Watkins and her husband, Tom of Jasper; along with eleven cherished grandchildren and twenty great-great-grandchildren. Pauline leaves behind a legacy of love and familial bonds that will continue to thrive in the hearts of her family.

Pauline joins her deceased family members, including her parents and her late daughter, Pam Marshall, in eternal rest. Though she will be dearly missed, her memory will forever be cherished by her loved ones.

A visitation in honor of Pauline E. Barker will take place on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Melancon~Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas.

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Pauline at the Port Arthur Police Department. She was a joy to work with, and I was saddened to hear the news of her passing. But I am also thankful to have had her as a friend. As her son, Jeff, has also been a friend for approximately 45 years, my thoughts and prayers go out to her family. RIP, Pauline. Godspeed!
