Peggy Marie Farris, 88, of Port Neches, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017. Peggy was born on March 5, 1929, to the late Albert Decuir, Sr., and Sadie Decuir in the Little Abbeville section of Port Neches where she grew up and graduated from Port Neches High School. Peggy sold Avon for 21 years and enjoyed many long-lasting friendships made during those years. Peggy loved traveling, golfing and working in her yard. She and Travis enjoyed dancing at the Pompano Club on Saturday nights for over 40 years.
Those left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 69 years, Travis Farris; son, Glenn Farris and wife, Brenda; daughter, Joanne Stephens and husband, Clifford; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Goldie Fore and brother, Albert Decuir, Jr.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a celebration of her life to begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Shane Baxter, officiant at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland. The interment will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
