Peggie Sue was the cousin you always wanted, a loving, caring person. No matter what was going on or how she felt, she always was more interested in you than talking about her problems. Peggy was loved by all and will be missed.

Peggy Sue was a beautiful person outside and inside. She was a first cousin and we loved her. We watched her grow up to be a wife, a wonderful mother and to take care of her mother and father. She will be missed by us, but we know one day we will see her again. Those who love the Lord never she each other for the last time. Till we meet again. Love Olita and Hilton

I am so saddened at Peggy Sue’s passing. She was one of my first friends at G.M. Sims Elementary in Groves. It broke my heart when she moved and went to school in PNGISD. We met again when she started dating Ricky! She was always so kind and beautiful! Many prayers go out to her family and friends.

Peggy and I go way back—23 years, to be exact. From the moment I moved into our neighborhood, we were instant friends. I think she might’ve thought I was a little crazy at first—I remember walking over to borrow some eggs, and she looked at me in shock! But then she smiled and said she liked that—it reminded her of the way things used to be, when neighbors were close and looked out for each other. From that moment on, we bonded. We could talk for hours—about life, flowers, kids, faith, and everything in between. Time would slip away, and more than once I forgot about dinner or my kids’ nightly routines. But somehow, Peggy made everything feel like it could wait. Our conversations were that comforting, that joyful, that meaningful. Peggy wasn’t just a neighbor—she was family. A constant presence, a listening ear, and a true friend. It’s with a heavy heart that I write these words, but it’s also with deep gratitude. Because when I think of my friend, it’s not just sadness I feel—it’s warmth. It’s the laughter, the shared stories, the kindness, and the memories that bring a smile to my heart. And it’s because of Peggy’s deep and unwavering faith that I know she is at peace, reunited with her loved ones in heaven. I believe with all my heart that she’s working in God’s garden—surrounded by beauty and love. Until we meet again, my dear friend.

On December 14, 1958, we were informed that we had a sister and we all did our best to spoil her. Peggy Sue was a God send to the Soileau family. We cherished her and continued through out her life. Despite fighting her battle with cancer, she was always there to console and inspire me through my battle. I love her and will miss her and her encouragement through my illness and the loss of my wife. Love you Peggy and see you soon.

Peggy was the perfect “satellite” sister. I left the area early in life and she was always the anchor in the family! Thank you for your selfless efforts to take care of mom and dad. Thank you for your positive attitude during these health issues. Your faith is a guiding light. Love you, Doug
